Is Def Leppard still touring with Mötley Crüe?

Tuesday, 4th July 2023 DEF LEPPARD/MOTLEY CRUE 2024 North American STADIUM TOUR Update Def Leppard 2023 Def Leppard and Motley Crue will tour North America in 2024 on The Stadium Tour and Vince Neil has given a new update. The World Tour 2023 started in Mexico City in February 2023. The current UK/European leg ends on 6th July in Glasgow.

  • Six joint stadium/arena shows were announced in December 2022 for August 2023.
  • A 7th USA show for Def Leppard was then announced in Sturgis, SD for the same month.
  • The Stadium Tour 2024 Vince Neil was interviewed this week in London and once again mentioned the current tour will return to the USA in 2024.

He first mentioned this back in September 2022 when also confirming the 2023 touring would start in South America in the Spring (which it did of course). Nikki Sixx then also said in the same month that the tour still had up to 120 more shows to play in 2023 and 2024.

Three Year Tour As mentioned many times before both Phil and Joe stated the stadium shows would last three years. Joe mentioned the three years of touring again in July 2022 when talking about the now announced (and almost completed) UK shows. A full return to the USA and Canada was always likely having played everywhere else in 2023 with the dates (probably) to be announced before the end of this year.

How rich is Tommy Lee?

What is Tommy Lee’s net worth? – So, what’s Tommy Lee’s net worth today? According to Celebrity Net Worth, Tommy Lee’s net worth is $70 million as of 2022. By comparison, his ex-wife Pamela Anderson is worth a reported $20 million as of 2022. While Tommy Lee’s net worth is pretty impressive today, this doesn’t mean that the rockstar hasn’t faced his fair share of money troubles—and many of them date back to his relationship with the Baywatch star.

T he pair, who famously got married after only four days of knowing each other, quickly faced financial issues after they returned from their honeymoon when Anderson moved into Lee’s Malibu house. At the time, Lee’s home was being renovated; the newlyweds, however, were unhappy with the work that was being done on the property and decided to fire several of their employees without pay.

Unfortunately, it was one of the worst choices they could have made. Image: AP Photo/Mark J. Terrill. One of their ex-employees took revenge after he was laid off by stealing the couple’s honeymoon sex tape. The former electrician—whose name is Rand Gauthier—destroyed the original tape and went on to sell copies of the clip to the highest bidder.

  1. As soon as Lee and Anderson found out, they filed a $10 million lawsuit against anyone they suspected of having a copy.
  2. In 1997, the court imposed an injunction against Gauthier, prohibiting him from creating or distributing copies of the tape.
  3. But it was too late; he already made $77 million off of the tape.

Anderson and Lee were forced to enter into a confidential settlement with video distribution company Internet Entertainment Group, which went on to make the tape available to subscribers for a fixed price on its site. “It was ridiculous. It was a total invasion of our privacy. Image: AP Photo/Nick Ut. But this wasn’t the worst of it. Lee and Anderson’s marital woes came to a head in 1998, when Lee was arrested and sentenced to six months in jail for felony spousal battery after a physical incident at their house that prompted the Barb Wire actress to petition for divorce.

  • Following his divorce, Lee was required to attend therapy, perform 200 hours of community service and contribute money to anti-domestic violence organizations.
  • While the total expense of Lee and Anderson’s divorce and ensuing custody battle from 2001 to 2002 was never made public, this period in the rocker’s life certainly cost him.

In 2022, Anderson and Lee’s life and sex tape scandal was made into a series Pam & Tommy, in which Lily James played Anderson and Sebastian Stan played Lee. A source told Us Weekly in January 2023 that Anderson released her Netflix documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, because of how the biopic “sensationalized” her life.

The Hulu series played a huge role in Pam deciding to share her story,” the insider said. “She hated how sensationalized the story was and wanted to be able to tell hers from the beginning.” In an interview with Variety in January 2023, Anderson revealed that she “refused” to watch the series. “It was just shocking,” she said.

“Tommy probably thought it was funny. I remember Tommy writing me a note saying, ‘Don’t let this hurt you like it did the first time,’ because he had heard through the kids that I was kind of struggling with the idea of bringing this all up again. I don’t think he was portrayed kindly.

I just know that I refuse to watch it.” She also called the creators of the series “assholes.” “Salt on the wound. You still owe me a public apology.” she said. “It just looked like a Halloween costume to me.” Still, she told Variety that she didn’t have anything negative against James and even invited her to the premiere of her documentary in January 2023.

“I said to Netflix, ‘I’d love to invite Lily to the premiere of the movie,'” Anderson said. “I think it’s hard to play somebody when you don’t know the whole picture. I’ve got nothing against Lily James. I think that she’s a beautiful girl and she was just doing the job.

  1. But the idea of the whole thing happening was just really crushing for me.” She also explained to Variety why she didn’t consider herself a “victim” by what happened to her by Pam & Tommy or anything else in her life.
  2. I’m not a victim, and I’m not the damsel in distress,” Anderson said.
  3. I’ve made my choices in my life.

Some obviously were made for me, but I’ve always been able to find myself again. And it’s created a strong person and a strong parent.” Image: Courtesy of Dey Street Books.

Is Mötley Crüe finished?

MÖTLEY CRÜE Isn’t Going Away Anytime Soon has had interesting past decade. The band announced their breakup in 2014 by signing a “cessation of touring agreement” and played their “final” show at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA on December 31, 2015. Advertisement.

  2. Then in 2018, reconvened to record four new songs for their biopic The Dirt,
  3. Rumors started circulating in 2019 that a reunited and would hit the road for a massive tour, which was eventually confirmed and began in 2022 thanks to COVID.
  4. More recently, guitarist Mick Mars retired from the band as a touring member in 2022 and was replaced by,

and are currently out on the road again, and bassist Nikki Sixx assures everyone that it’s not a farewell tour. Far from it, actually. In an interview with A Rádio Rock conducted this past December (and uploaded on March 7), Sixx said he and the band would like to keep going until their 50 th anniversary in 2031.

We just did those four songs for The Dirt soundtrack,” said Sixx, “We’re pretty much locked down right now. We’re having conversations beyond, So what’s ’24 look like for us in a touring capacity? As far as new music — I think new music always comes when the band is getting along. We get along so great right now.

We’ve been having the best time. We spend time together. We go out to dinner. ” Tommy just had his 60 th -birthday party down in Mexico, and he invited a small group of his very good friends. And I was there, and a bunch of cool Tommy ‘s friends. All of our wives were there.

  • John 5 came in.
  • And it was just cool to be able to not talk business, be in rehearsal, get on the phone, talk about the photo shoot or the video.
  • It was just hanging out, walking on the beach.
  • And we had some sweet conversations.
  • Scroll to continue reading.
  • Me and Tommy and Vince had this conversation.

I said, ‘What are you guys doing for the next eight years?’ And everybody’s laughing: ‘I don’t know.’ I said ‘Why don’t we just keep going? Let’s just take it to 50,’ So this isn’t a final tour. What does that look like? I have no idea. I’m just telling you, you have the band saying, ‘We’re having a blast.

  • Why stop?'” It’s interesting that Sixx leaves the door open for change in the future, saying “What does look like? I have no idea.” Though above all, and despite opinions circulating on the internet, if and the fans are enjoying themselves then go for it – stick around until 2031 or beyond.
  • And for those who don’t like what they’re seeing or hearing, not going to a show or listening is an option too.

Is Mick Mars touring with Mötley Crüe in 2023?

Mick Mars performed on the first leg of Mötley Crüe’s co-headline Stadium Tour with Def Leppard in November, however last October he retired from touring due to his ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis. John 5 has replace Mars on Crüe’s 2023 tour dates.

Is Def Leppard still good?

80s rock icons Def Leppard, Motley Crüe, Poison, and Joan Jett brought their North American Stadium Tour for a stop in San Diego. Sunday, August 28th, 2022 might as well have been Sunday, August 28th 1980 something (pick a year in the decade). Nearly every year in that decade, one or more of these bands had massive multi-platinum releases.

  • This was the heyday of rock n roll, and the fans in attendance were wishfully celebrating those days.
  • It was a Halloween party in August.
  • Men squeezed into way too tight spandex pants, ripped sleeveless t-shirts, eye makeup, long hair wigs, and headbands, (I guess Capezio shoes didn’t get the memo the comeback was on).

Pairing nicely with the evening’s old dudes in costume were the scantily dressed women in all types of leather, fishnets, and all manner of eyebrow-raising attire. Dressed up or not, everyone seemed to be having a great time overall. There wasn’t the craziness of a packed GA audience, sweatily pressed against the stage barriers, or tumultuous mosh pits.

  1. Instead, there were high-dollar floor tickets with nice white chairs.
  2. Although once the music started, the entire floor stood for the rest of the evening, some danced, some shouted at the devil at the appropriate moment, and all cheered.
  3. There were also plenty of Gen Z and Millennials in attendance who were genuine fans of the music, a true testament to the staying power of these artists.

Opening the night was a young, enthusiastic, hard-rocking quintet from Los Angeles, Classless Act, The band was perfect table-setters for the night. They were polished and held their own during their set. They drew plenty of attention and cheers from the early arrivals to the show.

The table was set and the appetizer served, and now it was time for the first course, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, They had a tough spot on the bill as many fans, were still arriving, with the sun being out still and with very warm temperatures, many fans were looking for shade, buying drinks, and still getting settled.

It also didn’t help the published starting time was incorrect. But, by the time Joan Jett and the Blackhearts hit their stride with their cover of the Sly and The Family Stone hit “Everyday People” the audience was ready to go and Joan had them singing along to the rest of the six songs in her set as she ran through her biggest hits closing out with “Bad Reputation.” Joan Jett and the Blackhearts sounded fantastic live and Joan’s vocals were spot on.

  1. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were a harbinger of what was yet to come that evening.
  2. Brett Michaels and Poison really started turning up the heat and got things cooking.
  3. The band has matured and Michaels brings a genuinely positive and thankful attitude to the performance that the band feeds on.
  4. Despite the tumult of the past and various health issues, all of the men in Poison seem to be having a great time on stage and seem to genuinely enjoy each others’ company and it shows.

Michaels’ vocals sounded great.C.C. Deville at one point channeled EVH in a spotlight solo and ripped through a partial rendition of Van Halen’s “Eruption.” Bobby Dahl and Rikki Rocket held the rhythm section down and overall the band sounded great. Michaels spent an extraordinary amount of time thanking San Diego for all the hospitality he experienced over the years as the son of a veteran stationed in San Diego.

  • Rikki Rocket was also celebrated for overcoming his battle with cancer.
  • The set notably finished with the hit “Nothin’ But a Good Time” concluding with the band members bringing their families and all their children (a lot of them) on stage.
  • As the evening grew dark, appropriately the Crüe made their appearance.

Motley Crüe began their set just as day turned to night. Much ink has been spilled and much has been said about this band on this tour. Some negative, some of it deserved. But the past was the past and on this night Motley Crüe, sounded great. The crowd was entertained, the faithful were ecstatic, and the band performed well.

Mick Mars played well, Nikki Sixx was very active on stage, Vince Neil’s vocals were enough on this night, and Tommy Lee, well, was Tommy Lee. During an interlude where Lee comes up front to play piano, he spent some time trying to convince male members of the audience to expose themselves, then moving on to the female members of the audience to do the same convincing at least one girl to do so.

After which, in a direct reference to the recent controversy of his exposing himself on social media, he pondered why it’s ok for females to expose themselves and for males it isn’t. The Crüe played a good set and sounded good, despite the fragility, aging, and health issues.

Def Leppard hit cleanup and delivered in fine fashion. They sounded fantastic musically, and Joe Elliott’s vocals were excellent. Def Leppard was touring in support of their new album Diamond Star Halos, All of the members of the band were active on stage, even though they are the oldest group in aggregate age.

The oldest member, Phil Collen, probably being in the best physical condition the all. Phil, known for his physique can and does still rock the shirtless look on stage that he is known for. Def Leppard continues to put out good new music, while they may not currently have the commercial success they enjoyed in the 80s ( Hysteria was certified 12x platinum), they still play the songs that brought them that success with joy and enthusiasm on stage.

Def Leppard has an arsenal of rock anthems, and they play them to full effect. This band, mostly in their 60s, shows no signs of slowing down, nor should they with the amount of success they enjoy on stage and off. This was what many fans came to see, Def Leppard has kept the fires burning bright, and for the 90 minutes of their set, they transported their audience to that place of endless summers of their youth, where rock n roll rules.

Make no mistake, this is your grandfather’s rock n roll. These bands came on the road to show that their brand of rock n roll they play still kicks ass. The Stadium Tour sold over one million tickets over 36 dates running from June to September. The Stadium Tour wraps up in Las Vegas on September 9th.

Is Def Leppard a good band?

Def Leppard were among the most successful rock bands of the 1980s, and (I believe) the only rock group to release two consecutive Diamond-certified studio albums, 1983’s Pyromania and 1987’s Hysteria.

Who plays first Def Leppard or Mötley Crüe?

The bands have been alternating who headlines the gigs, so Def Leppard are expected to open the show and should be on stage around 7pm. Motley Crue should be closer the evening and will be on stage around 9pm – though times are subject to change.

: Def Leppard And Mötley Crüe Announce 2023 U.S. Dates For ‘The World Tour’ Following Massively Successful North American Stadium Run

Why did Mötley Crüe retire?

Home News

(Image credit: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images/Live Nation) This Thursday (April 6), electric guitar player Mick Mars filed a lawsuit against his former band, Mötley Crüe, Mars retired from touring with the band last October – and was subsequently replaced by John 5 – but said at the time that he would formally remain a member of the group.

In the lawsuit, though, Mars alleges that after he announced his retirement, the band moved to remove him as a significant stakeholder in Crüe’s corporation and business holdings via a shareholders’ meeting, and – via lawyers – instructed him to sign a severance agreement that would divest him of his 25 percent stake in the band’s various business interests in return for a 5 percent stake in the band’s 2023 tour, a stake that would be reduced to 0 percent for subsequent tours.

When Mars – after the 5 percent offer was upped to 7.5 percent – still refused to sign the papers, the band took him to arbitration in an effort to keep the dispute private. In the suit’s most eyebrow-raising point, Mars also accused the rest of the band – bass guitar player Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee and vocalist Vince Neil – of miming some (or, in Sixx’s case, all) of their parts during Crüe’s 2022 stadium tour with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. (Image credit: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images/Live Nation) At the core of the dispute is Mars’ status as a member of Mötley Crüe, and how that factors into his share of the band’s business holdings. In Mars’ lawsuit – first reported by Variety – the guitarist says the band essentially conspired to fire him.

  1. In their response, Mötley Crüe say that Mars’ decision to retire was tantamount to a full resignation from the band.
  2. In 2008, Mick voted for and signed an agreement in which he and every other band member agreed that ‘in no event shall any resigning shareholder be entitled to receive any monies attributable to live performances (i.e., tours),'” the band said in their response,

“Retiring from touring is resigning from the band,” Crüe lawyer Sasha Frid explained to Variety, “The band’s primary function is to tour and perform concerts. And as you saw from the amendment, if a shareholder resigns, he cannot receive any compensation from touring – which is what Mick is trying to get.

It’s clear-cut that Mick is not entitled to any more money.” In his lawsuit, Mars contends that the band, particularly Sixx, “gaslighted” him into believing that his playing was sub-par and inconsistent. In their response, Mötley Crüe said that his playing was indeed below par. To prove their point, the band provided signed declarations from seven members of their 2022 touring crew, each of which maintains that Mars struggled with his performances throughout the tour.

These declarations were seen and confirmed by Variety, Mars has Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.), a painful degenerative disease that affects the spine, an affliction that ultimately led to the guitarist’s decision to retire from touring. While his lawsuit acknowledges that he made some mistakes on the band’s 2022 tour, it says that these were due to faulty in-ear monitors.

In a statement of his own – published on Twitter – Sixx said, “Sad day for us and we don’t deserve this considering how many years we’ve been propping him up. We still wish him the best and hope he finds lawyers and managers who aren’t damaging him. We love you Mick.” Sad day for us and we don’t deserve this considering how many years we’ve been propping him up-We still wish him the best and hope he find’s lawyers and managers who aren’t damaging him.

We love you Mick -https://t.co/dhpu7ejxSi April 7, 2023 See more According to Variety, Mars will still receive royalties from publishing and recordings he made with the band, but will not be a shareholder in any of the band’s businesses going forward. When did Def Leppard lose his arm?

On This Day in Music History: Def Leppard’s Rick Allen Loses Arm in Car Accident On New Year’s Eve 1984, tragedy struck Def Leppard’s drummer, Rick Allen. On his way to a party to celebrate the approaching year, he was involved in a car accident that took his left arm and nearly his life.

The then-21-year-old was driving his Corvette Stingray on a country road just outside of Sheffield, England when an attempt to pass another vehicle at high speeds resulted in a loss of control. Allen was thrown from his car in the accident. His arm was reportedly caught in the seatbelt and was severed from his body.

Attempts were made by doctors to reattach the limb, however, the procedure failed due to infection. “I really didn’t want to be here and I felt very defeated,” Allen, now 59, told in a recent interview, recalling life after the accident. The road to recovery was a long one, but the road to rock proved even more difficult.

However, Allen was committed to returning to the kit and to the stage as a member of Def Leppard, who had just recently seen a massive breakthrough with their 1983 album, Pyromania, Allen set about relearning how to play the drums with one arm. Using a customized drum kit, designed so some parts were triggered by foot, Allen was able to return to the stage with Def Leppard just 20 months after his accident, making his comeback for England’s Monsters of Rock festival in 1986.

“A lot of my peers, a lot of fans, my family a lot of encouragement, they all tried to help lift me up and then finally I got it,” he explained to the outlet. “I got to a point where I realized I can do this It wasn’t until after the fact that I discovered the power of the human spirit and that’s what really propelled me to where I am now.” To this day, Allen is still rocking alongside the rest of Def Leppard, holding the title of one of the greatest rock drummers of all time.

* Festival date According to, MÖTLEY CRÜE and DEF LEPPARD ‘s “The Stadium Tour” sold 1.3 million tickets and earned $173.5 million, making it the biggest tour of either band’s career. The biggest market on the tour, which featured support from POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS, was Boston, where the four acts performed two concerts at Fenway Park on August 5-6 and sold 64,000 tickets for total earnings of $9.3 million.

  1. Four individual shows broke the $6 million threshold: Charlotte, North Carolina; Denver, Colorado; Glendale, Arizona; and Inglewood, California.
  2. Average nightly earnings hit $4.96 million.
  3. The Stadium Tour” averaged 37,520 tickets each night, drawing more than three times the audience that each band previously reached on their own.

MÖTLEY CRÜE announced “The Stadium Tour” in 2019, just months after the band supposedly noticed a massive surge in interest following the huge success of the CRÜE ‘s Netflix biopic “The Dirt”, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx told that returning to the road with his bandmates has been “unbelievable.

I’m so grateful to be doing this, and it started, like, three years ago when the movie came out — two and a half years ago,” he said. “We kind of, we broke up the band. We just decided to quit touring. We’ve been doing it for, god, 35 years at that point.” According to Sixx, he was initially opposed to the idea of touring again with MÖTLEY CRÜE, especially since CRÜE fans who shelled out for the band’s 2014/2015 “farewell” tour were led to believe that the group would never return after playing its final show on December 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The band touted the signing of a pre-tour “cessation of touring” agreement as cementing the fact it truly was the end of CRÜE ‘s life on the road. ” Tommy does other stuff, and I do other stuff, and I remember getting the phone call from management, and I was, like, ‘No,'” Sixx said.

And they go, ‘You haven’t even heard what I have to say.’ And we were friends, and we were fine and everything’s good. We’re just like, ‘No, it’s a lot of work.’ When you see the show out there, you’re gonna go, ‘Wow.’ I mean, it’s years of work putting it together, and then they were like, ‘No, not eight arenas, eight stadiums,’ and I was like, ‘Let me call Tommy,'” He continued: “I was like, ‘Hey, dude, they’re talking about us touring,’ and he’s like, ‘No.’ Because we wanted to be — stand by what we said, and then it was 16 and 36, which we just entered our 36th stadium, and there’s, what, another 120 next year and the year after that, so, we’re grateful we said yes.” CRÜE ‘s long-delayed North American trek with DEF LEPPARD, POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS was originally planned for 2020 and later moved to 2021 and then to 2022.

Last month, MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil said the band will continue touring internationally with DEF LEPPARD in 2023, through Mexico and South America in the spring and soccer stadiums in Europe next summer.
